CREEKSIDE KIDS

Inviting kids of all ages to worship God in spirit and in truth!

With the help of Christmas carols and a little improv theater, our K-5th graders will explore the themes of Advent found in the story of Zechariah, Elizabeth, Gabriel and Mary. Each week they will act out a new scene from this less familiar story found in Luke 1.

As they do, we pray they will step into the shoes of these very ordinary people that God reached out to in extraordinary ways. We are praying that God's Spirit will use this unique worship experience to fill our kids with a sense of eager anticipation of what He wants to do in and through them!

BRINGING ADVENT HOME

If you would like to read through (or act out!) each week's "scene" from Luke 1 with your kids, it is listed below, along with a related prayer prompt. There’s also a link to an advent devotional for you, based on elements shared in the main service. (New themes will be added weekly on Mondays throughout Advent.)

Week 2 — PEACE (Luke 1:18-38) Lord Jesus, thank you for bringing the news of your coming both to the young and the old. Thank you for meeting us in our fear and confusion, just as you met Zechariah and Mary. One needed a miraculous sign to believe, the other needed to better understand your plan. We do not know what will bring peace to our children when their hearts are troubled, but you do. As they grow, please give them courage to bring their questions about life to you, so they may say like Mary did, "I belong to you, do with me what you have said."

Week 1 — HOPE (Luke 1:1-17) Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your word that you have preserved through the ages. Please bring it to life in the hearts of our kids–not as a fairy tale they outgrow, but as a careful and orderly telling of real events. Encourage them to place their hope in Jesus and give them confidence that what they have been taught about him is true! Please send your Holy Spirit to speak to them personally as you spoke through Gabriel to Zechariah, and give them faith to believe that you can and will answer the deep prayers of their hearts. Help them not to lose hope in seasons of waiting.

JOIN US ON SUNDAY MORNINGS

In addition to laughing, singing, playing and praying,
all of our kids from six months to 12th grade will hear the truth of God’s word,
through messages uniquely tailored to them.

We love our kids and the people who serve them, so we always make sure our leaders are well trained and have a clear Live Scan. There are always two adults per room, and every room has a maximum number of kids per adult.

We always check our allergy report before serving snack. Let us know if your child has any food allergies.
