Year End Giving — Creekside Church

Hello, Creekside Family!

As the year comes to a close and you plan your year-end giving, we always like to update our whole church family on how God has used your generosity so far and how our church budget looks to date. We are so grateful for how many of your include Creekside in your generosity.

I am writing this update with gratitude and strong confidence in the Lord, despite a deficit in our budgeted giving. The Lord has always provided for us in such situations, and I continue to see your generosity and the Lord's provision. If you've been watching the regular updates in our weekly e-bulletin, you have noticed that we have a $115,780 deficit in our projected giving ($399,220 actual vs. $515,000 budgeted). As with the past couple of years, however, we have been very careful with our spending so as not to run ahead of what God provides. Our actual deficit between giving and expenses is $16,300 through November. We are trusting God for strong December giving to set us up for a strong second half of the fiscal year.

So what does all this mean for Creekside financially?
It actually means that we're doing pretty well, all things considered, but it also means that we have had to hold off on doing some of the ministry we had hoped to be able to do. It also means that December giving is more important for us than ever, as it will determine how we plan for the next six months. For this reason, our staff and elders are continuing to look to the Lord to provide what we need, and we are looking at each of you, our fellow church family members, to prayerfully consider including Creekside in your year-end giving. We trust that the Lord is sovereign over this, but if God provides, we would love to give a green light to some of the plans we have put on hold.

It is worth noting that our caution in spending has NOT extend to our missions partners. God continues to enable us to fulfill all of our commitments to bless our partners around the world and locally. I shared not long ago about the incredible investment we all made in our Things That Matter campaign that went above and beyond our giving toward our general fund. Praise God for that! In addition to that, so far this year we have been able to give:

$49,200 to support our missionaries around the world
$42,600 for our children’s home in Bangladesh
$10,500 for mission trips to Mexico to support Permanecer Ministries
$9,000 to support Evangelical Free Churches around the world
$6,000 for local church planters
$3,000 for local families in need
$2,100 for local outreach ministries
$1,750 for the local homeless community through Gathering Inn

So as we end this calendar year and celebrate the Advent of Jesus, I am profoundly grateful. He is doing his good work in this world, and I am thankful to belong to a church family whose generosity enables me to participate in God's work in such beautiful ways. You all are a constant blessing to me. Please join me in praying for God's provision this year and in asking the Lord to guide in our continued giving.

MISSIONS & OUTREACH / Your investment in God's kingdom through Creekside has allowed us to share God's love with people near and far, from the homeless in Placer County to the elderly in Mexico and to the kids in our Children's Home in Bangladesh.

WORSHIP & DISCIPLESHIP / Your generosity has also enabled Creekside to answer Christ's call to build his church right here at home.
