February 2026
O Father who envelopes us in love every day of our lives,
make us more aware of your loving kindness.
O Christ who incarnates the love of the Father,
make us like you in your demonstration of love.
O Spirit who holds the power that raised Christ from the dead,
break through our numb exteriors and awaken our hearts to love.
We come to you as weary travelers, wounded and dissatisfied by false pleasures and loveless pursuits. We stand with all humanity in our need for mercy and in our need for you.
We cry out for peace as wars rage. We lament the ongoing loss of life and human flourishing as leaders and nations around the world continue to turn to violent means. We pray for our leaders and ask that your wisdom and grace prevail.
Lord, have mercy.
We lament as we hear unfolding stories of human trafficking among the rich and powerful. We long for the day when justice will roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Lord, have mercy.
We lament the persistence of racism and every other means of diminishing the dignity of those who bear your image. We also grieve the times when our response is outrage rather than humility, service, and love.
Lord, have mercy.
We pray for those in our church and broader community who are suffering illness or grieving the loss of a loved one, including the bereaved families through the recent avalanche in Tahoe. Lord, bring comfort. Lord, sustain.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for those affected by job loss and economic instability. Be our source of hope as we look to you to provide for our needs.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We rejoice as we hear stories of blessing among our church family. We smile as we see babies born in our midst, as we watch friendship and connection develop in our community, and as your provision finds those who need it most. Fill our hearts with gratitude and grace.
To God be the glory.
In all things we offer ourselves to you and ask that you make us more attentive to who you are, to what you’re doing within us, and to how you’re working around us. Empower us to boldly follow the Spirit’s leading.
Amen.
