MAY 2026

O Christ who embodies God-with-us,
thank you for being with us always.

O Spirit who makes weak and wandering people into a temple,
thank you for filling us with your presence and power.

O Father who nurtures every part of your creation as a loving parent,
thank you for the care we acknowledge and the care we do not perceive.

Help us to see your glory and guiding hand in all aspects of the world you have made, including the swirling emotions of our own hearts. We confess our need for you and ask you to be present to us every moment.

We are surrounded by uncertainty, anxiety, and grief as wars continue in Iran, in Ukraine, and in Gaza. As people bearing your image are oppressed and killed, we ask that you would preserve life and bring peace. In these conflicts that feel irresolvable, we ask that you bring wisdom to world leaders and draw people to yourself.

Lord, in your mercy…
Hear our prayer.

As we continue to see shootings and assassination attempts, we pray for our society, which so often turns to violence to resolve grievances and satisfy a sense of justice. Comfort the families of all the victims and show us that you are the true source of healing and of justice. May we turn from violence and embrace the way of the cross.

Lord, in your mercy…
Hear our prayer.

We pray for the members of our church family and the members of our community who are looking for meaningful work. We ask that you meet every need and open the right doors. Teach us to be patient and to trust that you value us more than the sparrows, which you feed in abundance.

Lord, in your grace…
Hear our prayer.

We think of the members of our church family who are caring for loved ones who are aging or ill. We ask that you strengthen them in their exhaustion and satisfy their souls when their hearts grow heavy and weak. Bring healing and hope. Surround them with love.

 Lord, in your grace…
Hear our prayer.

As we celebrate graduations and grade level promotions this month, we remember your faithful care for our children and we watch in gratitude as your plans for them unfold. May you guide their every step and fill their hearts always.

Lord, in your love…
Hear our prayer.

Be with us this Summer in our travels, our rest, and our pursuit of enjoyment. Help us to enjoy the places and people you put in our path. Most of all, may our deepest enjoyment be found in you.

Lord, in your love…
Hear our prayer.

In all things we offer ourselves to you and ask that you make us more attentive to who you are, to what you’re doing within us, and to how you’re working around us. Empower us to boldly follow the Spirit’s leading.

Amen.
